1. Introduction
Solina Centre for International Development and Research (SCIDaR) is an indigenous nonprofit institution that works to accelerate positive health, social, and economic reforms through high-quality program design and implementation, capacity building, implementation of scientific research and knowledge generation, as well as agenda-setting and stakeholder convening across human development sectors. Our work seeks to benefit primarily disadvantaged and under-served populations. We implement transformation programs in Nigeria and are currently expanding our footprint to several West and Central African countries. II. Description and Objectives
The Facility and Administrative Assistant plays a critical role in supporting the facility and administrative functions of SCIDAR at the state office level. S/He is responsible for providing efficient and effective facility and administrative support to ensure the smooth operation of the organization’s office activities and programs. The Facility and Administrative Assistant will work closely with the administrative team and other departments to assist in various tasks and projects in line with SCIDaR policy and objectives. The role holder will also be responsible for Technical Facility Support at the state offices and providing reports that facilitate the smooth state office operation.
III. Technical Responsibilities
1. Emergency Response Coordination: Act as the first point of contact during infrastructure failures, such as power outages, HVAC system breakdowns, or plumbing issues, and provide immediate solutions to minimize downtime and operational disruptions.
2. Preventive Maintenance Oversight: Develop and execute preventive maintenance schedules for critical. systems, including electrical, mechanical, and safety installations, to ensure reliability and avoid potential failures.
3. Facility Systems Monitoring: Continuously monitor key infrastructure systems (e.g. generators, water supply. security systems) using automated tools or manual checks to identify issues early and address them promptly.
4. Vendor and Contractor Management: Coordinate with service providers and contractors for specialized repairs, maintenance, and upgrades, ensuring work is completed efficiently and to the required standard.
5. Risk Assessment and Safety Compliance: Conduct regular risk assessments of facility operations, implement safety protocols, and ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations to mitigate risks and enhance workplace safety.

7. Excellent organizational and multitasking skills with the ability to handle conflicts
8. Strong communication and negotiation skills
9. Fast learner, open to learning from peers, subordinates, and supervisors collaboratively and at a rapid pace
10. Results-oriented performer, experienced in developing and tracking self and team with clear KPIs
b. Education and Experience
1. Academic training: Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree or its equivalent in Facility Management, Engineering, or related discipline
2. Professional credentials: Additional professional qualification/certification in Facility Management is advantageous
3. Experience: Minimum of 1-2 years progressive experience in Facility Management, General Administration, and Technical Support
