Job Title:Business Support Officer
Location: Lagos
Key Responsibilities
1. Operational & Logistics Support
- Liaise with internal Logistics team to coordinate logistics for field operations, including personnel movement, accommodation, and equipment deployment.
- Monitor and track utilization of vehicles, vessels, and logistics resources to ensure cost efficiency.
- Support the enforcement of Health, Safety & Environment (HSE) standards by ensuring all business support activities are conducted in full compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements, fostering a zero-incident culture.
- Support planning and execution of operational activities across assets (OML/OPL locations).
2. Security Coordination
- Liaise with internal security teams and government security agencies to ensure safe operations.
- Support implementation of asset protection strategies, including surveillance (e.g., drones, patrols).
- Guide the process of tracking and reporting security incidents and support escalation protocols.
3. Community & Stakeholder Engagement
- Support execution of community engagement plans in line with the Petroleum Industry Act (PIA).
- Coordinate interactions with Host Community Development Trusts (HCDTs).
- Assist in managing relationships with community leaders, contractors, and local stakeholders.
4. Regulatory & Compliance Support
- Ensure documentation and activities align with regulatory requirements (e.g., NUPRC, NUIMS).
- Support preparation of reports, compliance submissions, and audit documentation.
- Maintain proper records of contracts, approvals, and statutory obligations.
5. Administrative & Business Coordination
- Prepare reports, presentations, and operational updates for management review.
- Track budgets and expenditures related to logistics, security, and community activities.
- Assist in procurement processes, vendor coordination, and contract administration.
6. Performance Monitoring & Reporting
- Maintain dashboards and trackers for key business support activities.
- Provide timely and accurate reporting on operational support metrics.
- Identify inefficiencies and recommend improvements to processes and cost management.
Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
- Efficiency of logistics coordination (cost vs. utilization).
- Timeliness and quality of operational support delivery.
- Reduction in operational disruptions linked to logistics, security/ HSE gaps.
- Compliance with regulatory requirements and audit readiness.
- Effectiveness of stakeholder and community engagement support.Skills & Competencies
- Strong organizational and coordination skills.
- Good understanding of upstream oil & gas operations.
- Knowledge of Nigerian regulatory environment (PIA, NUPRC requirements).
