Global Peace Development (GPD) is a Non-Governmental Organization (NGO) founded in April 2002 and focuses on promoting peace for development in Nigeria. The organization envisions a society where sustainable peace drives development for all. GPD seek to build a peaceful society through gender equality, social justice, democracy and governance.

We are inviting applications from qualified candidates to fill the position of:

Job Title: Programme Officer, Gender and Peace Building

Location: Jos, Plateau
Employment Type: Full-time

Position Overview

  • The Programme Officer, Gender and Peace Building will provide technical and programmatic support for the design, implementation, monitoring, and reporting of gender equality, women, peace and security (WPS), social cohesion, conflict prevention, and peacebuilding interventions.
  • The Officer will support programme development, proposal writing, research, stakeholder engagement, capacity strengthening, and knowledge management while ensuring gender is effectively mainstreamed across GPD programmes and projects.

Requirements
Education:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or HND in Peace and Conflict Studies, Gender Studies, Sociology, Political Science, International Development, Human Rights, Development Studies, Law, or a related social science discipline.

Experience:

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience implementing gender equality, peacebuilding, governance, protection, GBV, women empowerment, or community development programmes.
  • Experience working with NGOs, INGOs or donor-funded projects.
  • Experience working with communities, government institutions, CSOs and traditional leaders.
  • Experience facilitating trainings and stakeholder engagements.
  • Proposal development experience.
  • Report writing experience.

Technical Skills:

  • Knowledge of the Women, Peace and Security (WPS) Agenda.
  • Understanding of UNSCR 1325 and Nigeria National Action Plan.
  • Understanding of gender analysis tools.
  • Knowledge of conflict sensitivity and Do No Harm approaches.
  • Knowledge of safeguarding and protection principles.
  • Experience with Results-Based Management.
  • Familiarity with MEL systems.
  • Ability to conduct gender and conflict analysis.
