A nationwide research initiative focused on children’s online privacy and safety in Nigeria is currently seeking qualified and motivated individuals to serve as field enumerators across all 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory, covering all 774 Local Government Areas (LGAs).

This important study aims to generate reliable data and insights into how children interact with digital platforms, the risks they face online, and the level of awareness among parents, caregivers, and communities regarding online safety and privacy.

The research is being conducted by a Tech Policy and Advisory organization with expertise in intelligence, data systems, and public interest research.

About the Role

Selected enumerators will play a critical role in the successful execution of the study by supporting field-level data collection activities. This will include administering structured surveys and conducting interviews with children, parents, and guardians in schools and community settings.

Enumerators will be expected to demonstrate professionalism, ethical conduct, and strong interpersonal skills, especially when engaging with minors and sensitive subject matter. Accuracy, confidentiality, and attention to detail are essential, as the data collected will inform policy recommendations and interventions aimed at improving children’s online safety in Nigeria.

Location: Nationwide (36 States)

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct field surveys and interviews in assigned locations
  • Engage with children, parents, and community stakeholders in a respectful and ethical manner
  • Ensure accurate and timely data collection and submission
  • Follow all research guidelines and protocols provided by the project team
  • Maintain confidentiality and uphold data protection standards throughout the study

 

This is a nationwide engagement. Enumerators will be deployed across:

  • All 36 States in Nigeria
  • Federal Capital Territory (FCT)
  • All 774 Local Government Areas (LGAs)

Applicants should indicate their availability and preferred locations, and must be willing to travel within their assigned areas if required.

Eligibility Criteria

Interested applicants must meet the following requirements:

  • Minimum educational qualification: OND, NCE, HND, or Bachelor’s Degree
  • Prior experience in field research, data collection, or survey administration is highly desirable
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Availability for fieldwork and willingness to adhere to project timelines
  • Basic understanding of ethical research practices, especially when working with children, is an added advantage
