Federal University of Health Sciences, Azare was established in 2021. It is located in Azare the capital of Katagum Local Government of Bauchi State.

The University currently has five (5) Faculties as follows:-

Qualifications and Requirements

1. PROFESSOR (CONMESS 7/CONUASS 7/CONHESS 15)

Candidates should be holders of relevant Degree from recognized Universities with fellowship of the National Postgraduate Medical College of Nigeria or its equivalent in the relevant specialty/sub specialty with at least twelve (12) years teaching, research and administrative experience in a tertiary institution. Candidates must possess demonstrable competence to provide academic and research leadership. Candidates must also be specialist in core areas of departmental fields of study with evidence of relevant scholarly publications in both local and international reputable peer-reviewed journals, plus registration with relevant professional bodies where applicable. Candidates who are not already Professors in recognized universities will not be shortlisted for professorial position.

1. ASSOCIATE PROFESSOR (CONMESS 6/ CONUASS 6/ CONHESS 14)

Qualifications are as stated for Professors but with at least ten (10) years teaching, research and administrative experience in a tertiary institution. Candidates must have evidence of relevant scholarly publications in both local and international reputable peer-reviewed journals, plus registration with relevant professional bodies where applicable. Candidates who are not already Associate Professors will not be shortlisted for the position.

1. SENIOR LECTURER (CONMESS  5/ CONUASS 5/ CONHESS 13)

Qualifications are same as (a) above but with eight (8) years teaching, research and administrative experience in a tertiary institution. Candidates must have evidence of a minimum of ten (10) scholarly publications in both local and international reputable peer-reviewed journals, plus registration with relevant professional bodies where applicable.

1. LECTURER I (CONMESS  4/ CONUASS 4/ CONHESS 12)

Candidates should be holders of relevant PhD from recognized University with fellowship of the National Postgraduate Medical College of Nigeria or its equivalent in the relevant specialty. Evidence of publication of original articles in both local and international reputable peer-reviewed journals is an added advantage, plus registration with relevant professional bodies with at least five (5) years post qualification experience.

 

1. LECTURER II (CONMESS 3/ CONUASS 3/ CONHESS 11)

Candidates should be holders of relevant PhD from recognized University with fellowship of the National Postgraduate Medical College of Nigeria or its equivalent in the relevant specialty. Evidence of publication of original articles in both local and international reputable peer-reviewed journals is an added advantage, plus registration with relevant professional bodies with at least three (3) years post qualification experience.

 

1. ASSISTANT LECTURER ( CONUASS 2/ CONHESS 9)

Candidates should have M.Sc. in relevant discipline, NYSC/exemption certificate with computer literacy

Non-Academic Qualifications/Requirements

 

Fire Officer II

Candidates should have a good degree in relevant field plus NYSC/Exemption certificate.

Fire Officer I

Candidates should have a good degree in relevant field plus NYSC/Exemption certificate with three (3) years post qualification experience.

Senior Fire Officer

Candidate should have a good degree in relevant field plus NYSC/Exemption certificate with six (6) years post qualification experience.

Medical Officer

M.B.B.S. from a recognized University plus professional registration with Nigerian Medical Council (NMC) and NYSC/exemption certificate.

 

Nursing Officer

Registered Nurse certificate (RN) or Registered Midwife Certificate (RM) or (RNRM) (double qualification)’; HND or B.Sc. Nursing plus NYSC/exemption certificate.

 

Nursing Superintendent         

Candidates for this position must possess the following qualifications:

1.      Must be a holder of NRN/NRM or its equivalent
2.      Must be a member of Nursing and Midwifery Council of Nigeria

                                          iii.     Evidence/skills of computer literacy/usage

Medical Lab. Scientist

Candidates for this position must possess a good degree in Medical Laboratory Science from a recognized institution and skills of computer usage with three (3) years post qualification experience.

Higher Technical Officer

A good HND or equivalent in relevant field plus NYSC/ Exemption Certificate.

Accountant I

Second Class honors Degree in Accounting from a recognized University plus NYSC Cert or /Exemption plus three (3) years post qualification experience.

Confidential Secretary I

Candidates should be holders of HND or University Degree in Office Technology Management or other relevant field plus NYSC/Exemption certificate.

Librarian II

Candidate must be a degree holder of Library Science (B.L.S) and any other relevant discipline and must be computer literate plus NYSC/exemption certificate.

RENUMERATIONS

The salaries and other conditions of service are similar to what obtains in the Nigeria University System. Candidates will be offered positions commensurate with their qualifications and experience.
