Job Description

Background

Unique Care and Support Foundation (CASFOD), with support from GIZ under the SEPIN-SUSI programme, is implementing independent monitoring of social protection interventions in Adamawa State. This includes monitoring of the Social Register expansion, Graduation Approach, and Shock-Responsive Cash Transfers (SRCT).

CASFOD is looking for a Data Analyst to manage, analyse, and visualise data collected from surveys, FGDs, KIIs, and post-distribution monitoring. The analyst will transform raw data into actionable evidence for decision-making and reporting.

The role is central to ensuring that the monitoring findings are accurate, timely and well visualised for decision-making.

Role Purpose

The Data Analyst will be responsible for data management, analysis, and presentation of both qualitative and quantitative data generated through the independent monitoring project. The role will ensure data quality, generate insights, and produce user-friendly outputs that inform adaptive programming and accountability to GIZ and stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

Data Management and Quality Assurance

  • Design, manage, and maintain project databases.
  • Clean, validate, and verify data collected from field teams.
  • Ensure data is anonymous and archived securely in compliance with data protection standards.
  • Develop and implement data quality control protocols.

Data Analysis

  • Conduct statistical and qualitative analysis of monitoring data.
  • Triangulate data from multiple sources (surveys, FGDs, KIIs, PDM, spot checks).
  • Analyse inclusion/exclusion errors, beneficiary satisfaction, timeliness, and graduation indicators.
  • Identify trends, risks, and anomalies that may affect program outcomes.

Data Visualisation and Reporting

  • Develop dashboards, charts, infographics, and other visual tools to present findings.
  • Support the preparation of quarterly monitoring reports, technical briefs, and final reports.
  • Generate thematic analyses (e.g., gender, disability, vulnerability status).
  • Contribute to knowledge management and learning products.

Collaboration and Capacity Building

  • Work closely with the M&E Specialist, Project Manager, and Field Coordinator to align analysis with project objectives.
  • Train enumerators and field staff on digital data collection and basic data quality protocols.
  • Support CSO capacity-building sessions by demonstrating practical data analysis tools.

Project Deliverables

  • Cleaned and verified datasets from all monitoring activities.
  • Regular analytical briefs highlighting key findings and trends.
  • Data visualisations (dashboards, graphs, maps, infographics).
  • Contributions to quarterly reports, PDM reports, and final project report.
  • Documentation of lessons learned in data management and analysis.

Required Qualifications and Experience

Education

Bachelor’s degree in Statistics, Economics, Computer Science, Data Science, Social Sciences, or related field (required).

Professional certification in Data Analysis, M&E, or Data Science (desirable).

Experience

Minimum 3 years’ experience in data management and analysis within development or humanitarian projects.
