JOB TITLE- Finance Intern
The Finance Intern will support the Finance department in maintaining accurate financial records, reconciling accounts, and assisting with essential financial processes. This role provides hands-on experience in accounting practices, data entry, and financial reporting while offering exposure to internal and external audits. The ideal candidate should have a keen eye for detail, sound numeracy skills, and basic knowledge of accounting principles.
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assist with weekly and monthly reconciliations of bank statements, account statements, and cash advance records to detect discrepancies and variances.
- Report variances and discrepancies to the line manager and collaborate with relevant staff for resolution.
- Support the month-end financial reporting process by preparing required reconciliation documents.
- Maintain organized and up-to-date financial files, reports, and data.
- Aid internal and external auditors by providing necessary documentation and supporting their audit processes.
- Perform occasional bank visitations for essential physical activities.
- Assist with day-to-day finance and administrative duties within the department.
- Undertake additional tasks as assigned by the line manager or Financial Controller.
ANTICIPATED OUTCOMES OF ROLE
- Timely and accurate reconciliation of financial records, including bank statements and cash advances.
- Efficient support in financial reporting and audits, ensuring compliance with organizational standards.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
EDUCATION– A University degree in Accounting, Finance or related field
EXPERIENCE– Minimum of 1 year relevant experience
KNOWLEDGE
The incumbent must demonstrate proficient knowledge and competence in the following:
- Basic understanding of accounting principles and financial statements.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
